JK Police organizes 2-day horse polo tourney in Kargil

SRINAGAR

A two-day Horse Polo Tournament was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police under its Civic Action Programme (CAP) here at Khree Sultan Choo Sports Stadium Kargil.

The tournament inaugurated by Superintendent of Police (SP) Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar saw four teams from different parts of Kargil district participating in it.

Speaking on the occasion the SP said that that the tournament is a part of District Police Kargil endeavors to boost police public relations in the district, besides to encourage the participation of the local youth in traditional sports.

Dr Vinod Kumar further said that participation in sports helps youth to engage in productive activities and also makes them mentally and morally strong to tackle hardships, hurdles and miseries.

The SP also congratulated the participating players and urged them to work for maintaining discipline, sincerity and competitive spirit in sports and also the other aspects of their life.

He also informed that Police Department Kargil is also organizing an Ice Hockey tournament at Drass in near future.
