Yasin Malik detained in Srinagar

SRINAGAR

Police on Wednesday detained separatist leader Yasin Malik after he took out a protest march here demanding release of political prisoners.

A spokesman of Malik-led Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) said he was detained soon after he took out a march outside the outfit’s Abi Guzar office along with supporters.

He said Malik has been lodged at Kothibagh police station after his detention.

Before his detention, Malik while talking to the reporters said some prisoners have spent over two decades in various jails. “They should be released,” he demanded.
