Attendance in Srinagar Civil Secretariat jumps from 45% to 80% after installation of biometric system

SRINAGAR

To ensure punctuality in Government offices including the Civil Secretariat, the General Administration Department on the instructions of the Governor had issued a circular on 21st of June, 2018, wherein, it was impressed upon all Administrative Secretaries to ensure implementation of the Biometric Attendance System in their offices, as well as subordinate departments/organizations.

The department were instructed to install adequate number of Biometric Attendance Systems for convenience of the employees.

Consequent to the instructions, attendance in the offices has shown substantial improvement.

In the Civil Secretariat from 45.40% on 21st of June, 2018, the attendance of the employees, as per the Biometric Attendance Report has substantially jumped close to 80%, which will further improve in the coming days.

The daily attendance report is being strictly monitored everyday by the General Administration Department and the Governor’s Secretariat.

This system is also being extended to all districts, tehsils and blocks in a phased manner. This will improve governance in the entire state.
