9 detained for alleged role in stone-pelting protests during nocturnal raids in Pulwama

SRINAGAR

At least nine persons allegedly involved in stone-pelting protests were detained by forces during nocturnal raids in two villages of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Police sources said eight people were detained from Arigam village while one was held from Arihal hamlet.

An official said the arrested persons were detained for alleged involvement in stone-pelting protests and are being questioned.

Seven of the nine arrested persons have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganie, Showkat Ahmad Rather, Sabzar Ahmad Lone, Tariq Ahmad Dar, Shakeel Ahmad Rather, Hilal Ahmad and Muzaffar Ahmad Wani, all residents of Arigam Pulwama
