11 Jamaat activists including top cleric detained during night raids in Pulwama

SRINAGAR

At least eleven persons including a top cleric were detained by forces in nocturnal raids against the banned Jamaat-e-Islami group in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday night.

As per reports, eleven Jamaat activists including top cleric Maulvi Mohammad Amin who delivers Friday sermons at a mosque in Washbugh village of the district, were detained by the police during night raids.

Amin was detained from his home in Dangarpora village.

Police sources confirmed that ten other people were picked up from their homes during night raids in Kakapora village.
