Poppy crop spread over 45 kanals razed in Anantnag

SRINAGAR

Continuing its drive against contraband cultivation, police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district along with team of Executive Magistrate Larnoo and Excise Department, destroyed poppy cultivation spread on about 45 Kanals of land in different villages in Larnoo area.

An official said that a joint team of Police, Executive Magistrate Larnoo and Excise Department assisted by SHO Police Station Larnoo under the supervision of SDPO Kokernag launched a drive against the illegal poppy cultivation.

“During the drive, poppy spread on 40-45 kanals of land was destroyed by the joint team in Larnoo, Kherpeth and Drawai villages falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Larnoo. The drive was highly appreciated by general public of area.”
