Contraband drugs seized during raids in Pulwama village

SRINAGAR

A huge quantity of cannabis leaves and powder was seized during raids on several residential houses at village Lelhar village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday.

“A police team of Police Station Kakapora along with SHO Kakapora headed by DYSP Hqrs Pulwama conducted a number of raids at village Lelhar Kakapora. During raids, 145 Kilograms of Cannabis leaves (raw material of charas) and 1.5 kilograms of Charas powder was recovered from the residential houses of Ab. Hamid Bhat son of Ismail Bhat, Farooq Ahmad Bhat son of Gh. Mohi-ud-din and Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Maqbool, all residents of Lelhar,” said a spokesman.

“Accordingly a case FIR number 42/2018 & 43/2018 under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Kakapora and investigation is going on,” he said.
