Bear kills shepherd in Bandipora forest

SRINAGAR

A shepherd was mauled to death by a bear in a village of in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday, police said.

An official said that Ghulam Ahmad Bhat (55), a resident of Bazipora Ajas, was grievously injured after being assaulted by a bear in Ajas forest area while grazing his cattle on Monday morning.

He was rushed to a hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed, said the official.
