Three drug peddlers were held along with contraband prescription drugs in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday, police said.
“Police Station Sopore received an information regarding the movement of drug pedllers. Based on this information, a checkpoint was laid at Batpora Crossing road where three suspected persons were intercepted,” said a spokesman.
He said that during their checking 31 bottles of SYSCODINE, ONEREX and 104 capsules of SPASMOPROXVYON PLUS were recovered from their possession.
The accused were identified as Aamir Akbar Mir son of Mohammad Akbar Mir resident of Mumkak Sopore, Taufeeq Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Mohammad Lone resident of Khamvyar Pattan and Tauqeed Ahmad son of Abdul Jabbar Rather resident of Khamvyar Pattan.
“In this regard, a case FIR No. 227/2018 under section 8/22 NDPS Act was registered and further investigation taken up.”
